There comes a stage in life when it’s time to impart knowledge and guidance to the next generation and that is where this story begins.

Catia D’Anna has been surrounded by vineyards and wineries all her life watching her father, Franco, start and grow the family vineyard, Hoddles Creek Estate, into the successful brand it is today.

While completing her science degree and subsiding her uni-lifestyle with working part time on the vineyard Catia (Cat) realised she was more alike to her Franco than she thought. She loved the hard work outdoors on the vineyard and the science of making good wine in the winery. Catia has completed vintages at Brokenwood Wines and Craggy Range as well as alongside Franco at Hoddles Creek Estate, combining all the tips and tricks learnt along the way into the winemaking behind Cat & Frank.

Everyone needs a mentor and Franco (Frank) was delighted when she voiced her desire to follow in his footsteps.

And here we are today with ‘Cat & Frank’. Under the watchful eye of years of experience, Franco is guiding Catia with sourcing select fruit and transferring his winemaking finesse to her one step at a time….
